Leave Concierge: To help eligible members through the Paid Maternity Leave process, eligible members have access to a dedicated leave and claims team. Leave Concierge provides tailored guidance and support to ensure members know how to file for each available benefit program.

Parent Experience Program: After filing a Paid Maternity Leave Claim, eligible members can access 8 hours of parent coaching per pregnancy through Parento’s Parent Experience program. These virtual one-on-one sessions with an expert parent coach and certified doula can help members with work-life, parent questions and concerns, and high-touch emotional support.

Parento Library: Eligible members with an active Paid Maternity Leave Claim will also have access to a suite of parent-friendly programming, articles, and resources in the Parento Library, all of which can be accessed through the Parento Portal.

Filing for Paid Maternity Leave

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can file for a Paid Maternity Leave claim through Parento’s portal. In the portal, you will also be able to use the Parent Experience Program. Here’s how to file:

1.  If this is your first Paid Maternity Leave Claim, create an account on the Parento Portal and file a claim.

2.  If you are eligible for leave, you will be notified of the required documentation needed to approve your request for Paid Maternity Leave. The Leave Concierge team is available to support you and answer any questions.

Please note that you will still need to notify your employer of your leave request. A Paid Maternity Leave Claim under IUOE’s policy does not guarantee approval of your leave with your employer.

3.  In addition to the claim with Parento, you may still need to file a claim for private Short-Term Disability (STD) or state benefits (e.g., Paid Family Leave).

Please check with your employer to see what additional programs may be available for you because your Paid Maternity Leave Claim will be reduced by these benefits.

4.  Once you return to work after your maternity leave, your Paid Maternity Leave Claim will be processed and paid.
